Most of us had a special educator in our lives,a teacher, tutor, mentor or coach, who made a difference. They put us on the right track. They helped us when we needed it. They supported our failures and cheered our successes. They made sure that we able to read, write and succeed in school and life.
On September 27 and 28, The READ Center will honor and recognize READ Center teachers and tutors who support our students in their learning and their lives. Learning to read as an adult is hard work. Teaching adults to read takes patience, compassion, literacy skills and humor.
