As a small nonprofit serving adults from all races, ethnicities, backgrounds, and lived experiences, we work hard to create a safe, welcoming, supportive, and affirming environment for our neighbors. We believe that words are important and are committed to using our platforms in solidarity with our Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. For The READ Center to fulfill its mission of changing lives through adult literacy, our work must be far-reaching and inclusive. As such, racism, discrimination, and hatred will never be tolerated at READ.
We acknowledge that the work is ongoing and urge everyone in our community to stand up and support AAPI communities. Explore Cornell University’s list of resources on how to educate yourself and others, speak up, and fight anti-Asian racism.
