The 2019 Great Richmond Trivia Bee was a hit with a record 56 teams competing!
“My team had SO much fun at the Trivia Bee last night! We all agreed that it was the most fun we’ve ever had a fundraising event. We will definitely be back next year.”
Richmond’s best team-based trivia competition, #RVATriviaBee, was held on Wednesday, April 24th at The Hippodrome. Teams, donors and volunteers raised $45,000 to support The READ Center’s adult literacy programs.
Thank you to Trivia Bee emcees Kat Simons of Mix981 Richmond and emcee Todd ‘Parney’ Parnell of the Richmond Flying Squirrels for doing a great job. They kept the party going throughout the evening.

Congratulations to CapTech’s “Check Yourself Before You Trebek Yourself” for taking home the 2019 Trivia Bee trophy. Teams from Hunton Andrews Kurth won 2nd, “Ruth Baser Winsburg” and 3rd Place, “Oliver Windell Holmes”. “Know Collusion” from Columbia Gas of Virginia was voted Best Team Name – their second win a row.
